Dr Going, of Hamilton, visited he town last Wednesday. Mrs and Miss Harris, of Har■isville, left for the city yesterlay morning. Mi Henare Kaihau led the >pposition at the Waahi meetng. During the week Mrs Main, Cambridge, was a guest of Mrs Cay, Ray nor’s road. The Town was represented at )rakau on Wednesday by Messrs . P. Bailey and L. B. Harris, en. Among the visitors to the iports last Saturday were Mr l. F. Bollard, M.P., Mr W. J. fcalph, and Mr Woodley, secreiry of the Auckland League. On his way to the celebration t Ora,lean, Dr Cleary, Catholic ►ishop of Auckland, broke his >ui*ney at Huntly where he lade a short visit to the Priory. “King” Te Rata and party sail )i* England by the- Niagara liich leaves Auckland on the Lth inst. His “subjects” tend to ive him a hearty send off on the ill inst. Mr E. A. Mathews, postmaster, at present enjoying his well trued holiday leave. During s absence the duties will be Tried on by Mr W. Moore, reiving officer. Mrs T. Fisher, who is one of e oldest and most respected sklents of the town, became so riouslyill during the week, that * Going was called in to conit with Dr J. C. Macdiarmid. The Hon. Dr Pom are was esent at the native meeting Inch commenced at Waahi on tnday last. He was accoinnied by his private secretary, r Poison. They left for Auckld on Monday morning
