Important Action.
UNION OFFICIALS TO BE SUED. Mr S. Dixon, President of the Taupiri Miners' Union, states that together with Messrs J. Young. A. A. Stewart and J. Gilmour, ha has received a sum- j mons to appear at the Magistrate’s Court, Huntly, on the 17th inst, to defend an action brought against them as officials of the new union by Messrs D. Moles.worth, senr., and W. May--1 and, who each claim £9O as general, and £6O as special, damages as compensation for alleged wro igful dismissal and malicious intimidation exercised by the defendants in inducing the Taupiri Coal Mines, Ltd., to break its contract with the plaintiffs, and discharging them; and also on account of the action of the defendants, the alleged loss was suffered by the plaintiffs’ being deprived of the benefits and privileges of membership of the union.
