Driving’ Accidents.

LADY’S SHOULDER DISLOCATED. Last Friday while driving from ‘heir home at Waikokowai (Pukemiro) to Mr and Mrs Alex. McKinnon’s residence, Mr and Mrs A. Jamieson had a very nasty experience resulting in ttie dislocation of the lady’s shoulder and a badly damaged buggy. As Mr Jamieson was driving uj: a somewhat steep hill the fastenings broke, and the pole falling on their heels frightened the pair of horses so greatly that they bolted. Every effort to obtain control proving vain, and an accident being apparently unavoidable, Mr Jamieson told his wife to jump out of the buggy, but, instead of following his advice, she stuck to the vehicle which went over the embankment at the top of the rise. Mr and Mrs Jamieson were thrown out, the wheel of the buggy, as it rolled down the steep declivity striking the latter with such force that the shoulder was dislocated. The injured lady was attended to bv Dr. J. C. Macdiarmid who was immediately summoned, and is doing as as well as can bo expected. Mr Jamieson escaped almost without injury. ANOTHER SHOULDER DISLOCATED. As he was going along the Ruawaro Road last Friday in a light cart part of the harness on the horse driven by Mr W. Zohs broke and the horse bolted. In order to stop the animal Mr Zohs drove into the side of the cutting whore another part of the harness broke, and tho horse beginning to kick soon demolished the front boards of the cart. One of these struck Mr Zohs and rendered him unconscious. The horse appea rs to have got free from the harness after the cart: with its unconscious occupant had fallen down the steep incline on the other side of the road. Mr J. Philips who arrived on the scene, and who, fortunately, possesses a sound knowledge of First Aid, successfully restored the injured man to consciousness, and on finding that one shoulder was dislocated soon put matters right. Mr Zohs is now under medical treatment.
