Huntly Hibernians.

A meeting of the Hibernian Lodge was held in St. Anthony’s School on Tuesday, Bro. W. Darby presiding over a good attendance of members. After the usual routine business the president extended a very hearty welcome to the new chaplain, the Rev. Father Edge, who acknowledged the same in a few well chosen words. The General Executive asked the Branch to appoint a delegate to attend the half-yearly meeting to be held in Auckland shortly. The meeting decided to ask their late chap lain, the Rev. Father Cahill, who is now resident in Auckland, to act in that capacity. After a lengthy discussion tile meeting decided to form a Debating Society in connection with the Branch, under the name of St Anthony's Lit.-,*,, and Debating Society, Bro. o. Mohan being elected president ; Bro. Weybourg, secretary ; and Bro. T. McGill 1 treasurer. The question of regalia for the officers and members was also dealt with at length, the secretary being instructed to write to the District Secretary re same.
