SECOND DAY RESULTS

THE CONCLUDING EVENTS

The Westland Racing Club meeting was concluded yesterday in fine weather. The whole meeting passed off very enjoyably in spite oM the postponement on Wednesday/ Yesterday was very pleasant, the sun shining all the afternoon till after 5 o’clock, when a light shower fell at the close, of the racing. The racing was interesting trie fields being fair, and the public made a good selection five first favourites and two second favourites catching the eyes of the judge's. Tli 2 Municipal Band again played a pleasing musical programme. The starter Mr G. Reed had another very successful day the despatches being Very staisfactorv. The various officials Were at their posts working well and the events were run off very promptly to time. The totalisator handled expeditiously £3117J for seven events as against £2961£ last year for eight events the total for the meeting being £7328-,- as against £66161- an improvement of £712, with two races less. The following events were -decided after We went to press yesterday: SUMMER HANDICAP. Of £7O, 5* Furlongs.

Verden hopped out smartly from the barrier and led from Bon Tray and Knocklong. Full Crop and Sir Bombal came in the straight hut the leader won easily by three length's, third a length away. Arrowmid led from the start to the entrance of the straight whore Ringing Cheer took charge to win by half a length with Monipere three lengths away third. Time 1.18 1-3. Tote £639.
