An invention which will be invaluable if it is -applicable to rural Australia. where inquisitive listening-in on party telephone lines prevails, is a new and cheaper group of telephone service that is to; be available in England in April except for very small exchanges. The subscribers will be connected to tho exchange in groups of from four to-eight. They will be able to talk in complete secrecy. One subscriber cannot use the line while another is doing so, nor telephone another in the same group, hut as the greatest distance between these will not exceed 350 yards, mutual telephone communication should not he necessary.
