FIRST DAY RESULTS,
1 The Westland Racing Club opened its midsuqmter meeting yesterday in fine but cloudy weather., The course was in good order, and the attendance r.ii improvement on that of last year, the ; gat© takings showing,, an .increase ■of £36.1; The appointments were in excellent order.' The which reverted ;to the old- system of paying • two diyjdends Handled >'£4,211, for the day ri|S against £3,636 .for the first day last year, an increase of £576 for .the day with seven/races as against, eight races, last year.. The fields were very fair only the first race failing to pay dividends. The Municipal Baiid was present and played ; a pleasing p?°grjmijp.
