GERMAN CLIMBERS
ATTEMPT ON HIMALAYAN PEAK

CALCUTTA, December 25.
Herr Willy Merkly, and eleven German climbers, are making another attempt next year to climb Nanga arbat, 26,620 ft, a peak in Kashmir Hills. The party will consist of nine climbers, three scientific experts, six with previous experience in climbing in the Himalayas. Herr Merkl met witu considerable ill-luck in 1932 in an attempt to conquer Nanga Parbat. He was driven back by storms, members of the expedition being affected by sickness.
