ATTEMPT TO BLOW OPEN SAFE

ASHBURTON, Deember 22. 'An attempt to blow open .the safe dn the office of W. J. Moore, draper, East Street, was - made 1 during the' night. The type of explosive used is not known. The lock was merely closed more tightly by the charge, and no damage was done to, the office. Entrance to the building was gainiea through a small skylight, .and an exit wa B made through the back door, jt is the first ca&O of' the kind in Ashburton. ' ■' L
