BILLS READ YESTERDAY. (Per Press Association, Copyright). WELLINGTON, December 21. The Legislative Council last night passed the Finance Bill, and Finance Bill '(No. 2). In the House of (Representatives the following Bills were put through ’ the remaining istages and passed: —Motor ■Spirits 'Regulation of Prices) Bill, (Education Law Amendment Bill, Poor Prisoners Defence Bill, Land Transfer (Hawke’s Bay) Bill, Card Tourneys Bill, Valuation of Land Amendment Bill, Auckland Metropolitan Milk Bill, Finance D'll and Finance Bill (No. 2).

The supplementary estimates and iSm-’ll Farms (Belief of Unemployment) Amendment Bill were introduced by Governor-General’s message.

The Hen. E. A. Ransom said 'the Small Farms Amendment Bill contained no policy matters, but it included several provisions which would facilitate the working of the scheme.

The Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill, Local Legislation' Bill. Native Purposes B’ll, Mortgagees’ and Tenants’ Relief Bill, Coal Mines Amendment Bill, Da’iry Industry Amendment Bill, and Law of Libel Amendment Bill were read the second time. The House rose ,at 1.40 a.m. PROVISIONS IN ESTIMATES. WELLINGTON, December 21. Provision is made in the Supplementary estimates for. the cost of paying members of the Tariff Commission This is set down at £ISOO. ■ A compassionate grant of £6OO ■is made to the widow of the late'Mr H. E. Holland, and £250 is provided for the expenses of Mr Holland’s funeral.

The defence estimates contain £SOOO for expenses incidental to aircraft, landing grounds. A vote of £6OOO is; provided for the purchase and working bf B class 'broadcasting stations, hut part is recoverable bills read this morning.
