FARM PRODUCE RECIPROCITY

WASHINGTON, December 19,
Eight countries, including Australia, to-day sought to take advantage of a stalemate between the "United States and France in their attempts to trade wine and farm produce. France, after agreeing to increase imports for a large allotment of wine shipments, intended to raise tariffs on United States fruits. Great Britian is seeking an increased Scotch whisky quota, offering a large quota on the United States pork products. The British Ambassador lias made representation on behalf of Australian and South African wine and Jamaican rum. Spain, Portungal, Greece, Russia, Chile and Argentine are actively negotiating for large increases in the wines quotas.
