Glacier Hostel'this- morning that Miss K. Gardiner, the English alp-

inist, whose exploits in the glacier regions are so well-known, had Ibeen successful in climbing Mr Tasman (11,475 feet);

The summit was reached last Wednesday, and it is the first occasion on whieh ’it has been climbed from the west. side.

' Miss Gardiner was accompanied by 'Guides Vic Williams (the Hermitage), and Frank Alack (Fox Glacier Hostel). The route taken was via Eugenic Col, and ‘the party over Mt. Lindenfeldt.
