The meeting of the Amateur Athletic Association resolved on the motion cf the secretary (Air Heathwood), to withhold permission for Metcalfe and Hampson to visit New Zealand next year. Officials of the Amateur Athletic Union of Australia were trenchantly criticised for the way in which they had conducted negotiations in connection with the New Zealand visit.

The, question will be reopened when the Australian union submits to the Association the original request by New Zealand, setting out the terms and conditions.
