In the first test, All India scored 219, England replying with 455. rndia ill the second innings scored 159 for two wickets. Armarmath is not out 102 and Nayudu not out 44. Stumps were drawn.
India in its second innings had lost .6 for 225 at lunch. Amarnath, the Lahore century-maker, continues to be the hero of the hour. It is reliably vouched that he has already been offered an aggregate sum of £1540 by wealthy admirers. Hysterical women also divested themselves of cogtly jewels and bangles and flung them to the young test cricketer. .

In the Sheffield 'Shield cricket maten against South Australia, to-day, Now .South Wale 6 in the second innings m 'de 271 (Fingleton 30, Brown 38, Bradman 76, and Kippax 90). Grimmest took 5 lor 103, Lee 3 for 4, and Wall 1 for 66.
South Australia in the second innings lost no wickets for 65. Nitschke made 44 not out, and Kictiarcrson 20 not out. South Australia thus won the match under sensational circumstances, by ten wickets. Nitschke hit fiv, e fours and r>ne six.
