CHRISTCHURCH, December 18

As a result of beneficial rains in Canterbury over the week-end, the value of the wheat yields will go up !by many thousands of pounds.

One authority stated the rain was worth a million pounds in grain seed and improved pastures. The average wheat yield should be 30 bushels to an acre. The rain was badly needed.
