GISBORNE, December 18,
A lucid account of the happenings o n the night of the tragedy at Tolaga Bay is given by the twelve and a half year old daughter, who. described the wrangling kept up by her parents till a late hour, her father carrying the body of his wife out of the house, and his return a few minutes later. Then lie took the one corner and placed it m bed”'with the boy, telling him lie must always look aft?r it: 0,-ien to the eldest girl he said her mother had gone forever and he himself must go away. He bade his five children a tender farewell, urging the edest- girl to do her best for the others and especially the baby. The girl ipent the night with the children for several hours and till daylight, and then she phoned the police.
