GERMAN PEOPLE DISAPPOINTED

(Received this day at 10 a.m.) LONDON, December 13
The “Guardian’s” Berlin correspondent says that Captain Gopring, interviewed by a Berlin paper in a responsible characteristic outburst, intended to influence the Reichstag trial, declared that the trial had disappointed the entire German people.
“I hope it will soon end. My election shows that the Reichstag is behind me. I used my appearance as a witness to register a protest in the name of the German people, against the costs and methods. The Reichstag fire wa s a political attack, with the object of effecting a Bolshevik revolution, for which the accused were responsible. Tt is deplorable that the crime is still unexpiated, and that the long-winded trial continues.”
