Tile clay after a man was hanged, for murder in Lahore' gaol, a letter to the gaol superintendent was opened, containing instructions to suspend i'he execution, pending an appeal, which had been admitted by the Privy Council. A local newspaper asserts that- this letter arrived long before the execution, hut, owing to a mistake, it was net delivered until it was too late.
