; CHRISTHURCH,' November A decision to*-exclude' women members from pennant matches and from the management of the' Centre was arrived at by a , meeting of The Christchurch Bowling Centre to-night. Several women’s, clubs have bebtt formed in Christchurch in the Iptjt two years. They play on the men’s greens, hut are not permitted -to play on ■ Saturday afternoons, and are not allowed to share • in- the management of dubs.
The Centre’s decision was. really in anticipation cf a possible demand by women to take a more active part in .the game and in -the administ-ra-tin, At the Centre to-night, delegates s.aid that they had 'no objection to women playing bowls but they did not want them in men’s competitions.
