PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 28

A deputation, representing limited ( liability companies in the city, waited on Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., with the object of taking steps to oppose the provision in the Companies Bill, which they consider inimical fo their interests. The provision refers to the compulsion for companies to engage auditors to examine their books. The deputation pointed out that the measures would be serious. It was felt that this was not warranted, because such business as those represented would not be treated differently from firms which, though not limited liability companies in comprehension, were very similar, but were not placed under

the same disadvantage. An individual might have actually a larger business, but it was not placed under, the same impost or subjected to the expense of audit. The Member of Parliament promised to place the representations before the committee on the Bill,
