REPORTED CRASH
OF PLANE OFF TARANAKI COAST.
DIVING BIRD SUGGESTED
(Per Pr?&* Association - Copyright.)
NEW PLYMOUTH, November 26. Six residents in different parts of
y Okato declare that they saw an aero- ./ plane crash in flames four miles at sea this afternoon. Inquiries made ovei most of the North Island show that all aeroplanes are accounted for. Launchmen fishing near the spot say that a great shoal of fish, into which birds, including a large albatross with a wing spar of 12 feet, were diving may be the explanation. Spray was flying up, which, in the sunlight, resembles smoke, and possibly it deceived the observers.
