INCREASE IN U.S. EXPORTS

WASHINGTON, November 25
Exports from the United States were the largest for any month in the past two years, according to figures that are published to-day. The month’s export aggregated 194 million dollars, compared with 161 millions for September.
The imports last month were-worth 161 million dollars. October’s favourable balance of U.S.A. trade exceeds that of the previous month by thirty millions of dollars. The officials have described the increase due to an “advance in the export values.”
BRITISH EXPORTS INCREASE RUGBY, November 24.
Confidence in the recuperative qualities of the basic industries for Great Britain, was expressed by Mr Runciinan, during the Commons debate. He pointed out that in the first nine months of 1933, British exports to all foreign countries rose from £l4*,500,000 in. January to October, 1932, to £150,000,000 in January to. October, 1933. Exports to Empire countries in the same periods fell from £123,000,000 to £118,000,OOO, "but this was more than accounted for by the drop of £7,000,000 in exports to the Irish Free State owing to abnormal circumstances.
JAPAN’S TRADE WITH BRITAIN LONDON, November 24.
The “Daily Express” recalls that a delegation of Japanese merchants has been here on a two months mission, to discuss with British merchants and the Board of Traffic officials, a scheme for -sharing Empire markets. Apparently, no conversations will be possibe until Japan has settled with India.
The “Express’” says Japanese exports for eight months in 1933 weie. To Britain, £3,651,916; Australia. £2,556,830; New Zealand, £323,981.
