COURT MARTIAL
ABSENCE FROM REGIMENT,

LONDON, November 24.
A Scots Guardsman, Albert Lorrimer, who walked 500 miles from London to Aberdeen to fetch bis uniform in order to save the cost of postage, was court-martial led at Chelsea to-day on a charge of absence from his regiment.
Lorrimer explained that when he returned to London after a leave spent in Aberdeen, he decided not to rejoin his regiment, but he realised that he had left his uniform behind. Therefore lie walked to Aberdeen ■ to fetch it, as lie possessed only nme shillings. Asked why he had not requested that the uniform should be posted, Lorrime r said he thought it would he cheaper to walk. The walk occupied four weeks, after which Lorrimer surrendered.
The Court's finding will be promulgated in due course.
