Another testimonial cricket match, this time for three former Test players, H. Collins, C. Kelleway and T.. Andrews, opened at Sydney cricket ground to-day in delightful weather, but the wicket was inclined to be tricky after the recent rains. The New South Wales side was captained by Kippax, and played a Rest .of Australia side, the latter being captained by Woodfull. It consisted of Ponsford, O’Brien, Darling, Bromley, Nash, Ebeling, Nithscke, Lee Chilvers. Walker.

New South Wales, in the first innings made 273, Fingleton scoring 33, Brown 8, Bradman 22, Kippax K, McCabe 110, Rowe 66, Oldfield 4, Mair 2, Hill 2, O’Reilly 4, Howell ot out 1; extras 6. In the bowling Nash took 1 for 48, Ebeling 5 for 66, Lee 0 for 39, Chilvers 2 for 69, Darling 2 for 14, Bromley 0 for 31. The Rest of Australia in the first, innings lost 1 for 27—Woodfull 7, Ponsford '(not out) 13; extras 7.

Ebeling”s bowling, a fast medium variety, was praised by all critics. He is regarded as a certainty for the English tour.
