AID TO GROWERS

CANBERRA, November 24. Til© .Federal Cabinet has decided that a sales tax of £4/5/- per ton on flour will be imposed. This is estimated to yield £1,600,000 during the present financial year. A proposal to borrow money from the Commonwealth Bank lias been abandoned,' but £1,400,000. will be provided from revenue making the total assistance to wheatgrowei’s three millions. This should enable a grant ' of 4/- an acre to be made to growers.
