THE S.S. KAREPO

DETAILS OF THE DAMAGE.

(Per Press Association—Copyright)

WELLINGTON, November 23

The Union Company’s collier “Karepo,” which was docked to-day for examination and repairs, was found to be, slightly more damaged than was anticipated. Four or five plates on the starboard bow in the way of No. 1 tank, were found to be badly holed. The bilge keel wag bent for its full length on the starboard side, while there were two minor indentations fairly long, and the tip of a blade of the propeller was bent. The repairs are expected to take eight or nine days, and the crew will be paid off to-mor-row. The Karepo touched a rock on the South Tip Head while entering Greymouth on November 15.
