A late frost varying in severity, was recorded throughout North Canterbury this morning. Five degrees in Christchurch ,caused,, miipor ,damage,,,to po%, toes and tomatoes in exposed places, but eight degrees iir thevicinity oi Kaiapoi and Rangiora blackened hundreds of acres of potatoes, beans and tomatoes, causing extensive loss. Fruit seems to have escaped.
