PERJURY CHARGE
AGAINST SOLICITOR’S AGENT,

CHRISTCHURCH, November 22
Described by counsel for the Crown as a particularly serious cose, a charge of committing perjury in Supreme Court proceedings before Judge MacGregor, regarding a petition for dissolution of a marriage brought by Cym Dixon against Isobel Dixon, was preferred at the Magistrate’s Court this morning against. John Black Batchelor, 32, a solicitor’s agent- - Counsel stated* other charges, were pending. : - '' Accused -was remanded; till- December 5.1 -Bail : -was allowed, :b.ut ? accused was ordered to .-report daily, to the .police... The police alleged.that accused falsely . s wore in cough; “She refused to name the co-respondent, and I was unable to identify ,liim.” whereas,, in truth, the .alleged .co-respondent, was personally known to the accused, who was in fact, able to identify him. Counsel for accused said Batchelor jjclajfiiedi-hfi had a coßiplete • answer to the charge.
