Replying to a speech of welcome by the Mayor of Timarii (Mr T. W. fcaiterthwaite), his Excellency said tha-> hi s last two mails from Great Britain, which included letters from politicians, business , men, and persons in various callings, showed that the clouds of depression were lifting. Lord Bledisloe asked about local'Tonditions and was told that the . recent rains had proved of great benefit and had inspired farmers with confidence.
