OBITUARY

The death took place- last evening at the Grey River Haspital of Mrs Eliza Manderson, wife of Peter Mandersbn., of ißunanga. Deceased had been ailing for the last 12 months. She had been a resident of the West Coast for the last 47 years,'23 of which were spent in the Ruiianga district. She was a native of Cumberland," England and was 78 years of age. She leaves a husband and family of seven daughters and two sons.

Private advice has been received by Mrs Aicken, of Aickens, Christchurch Road, of the death of her son-in-law, Mr William Ellis, of Melbourne. Deceased was a native of Christchurch. He had resided in Melbourne for the past 23 years, and had been ailing for some time. He is survived by his widow, and a family of five sons and four daughters

The death occurred yesterday morning at his late residence, Waiuta, of Challes Woolger White, at the age of 61 years. Death ensued from miners’ phthisis. A native of Victoria, the deceased came to New • Zealand 25 years ago. He is survived by his wife, four daughters and one son.
