RACING AT CARTERTON. SALTPOT WINS THE CUP

CARTERTON, November 19. Th e Carterton Racing Club’s annual meeting took place to-day at ' Taratahi racecourse in beautiful weather before a large attendance. The win and place investments reaching £7,713 as against £6,225/10/- last year. The course was in perfect order and good times were recorded in several very close finishes. The cup was won by Mr B. HammondV Saltpot with a length to spare.. There were no startling dividends, though in the last race, won by My. Ideal, the winner repaid backers well,. Results:—

Novice Stakes.—l/1 Hunting Lodge 1, 2/2 Morhury.'Sj 3/3 Bay Area 3. Won by two lengths ica head. Time 1.2. Carrington Highweight Handicap 1/1 Hazoor l, 4/4 Teua 2, 2/2 Flower 3. Won by a head ; a neck. Time 1.41 2-5.
