AMUSEMENTS

EVERYBODY'S PICTURES.

“TO-NIGHT ONLY.”

“FACE IN THE SKY.”

Distinctly American jn theme, -yet marking a radical departure from American method's of treatment, “Face in the Sky” which comes to the Princess Theatre to-night promises to he one of the most, interesting screen offerings since- the coming of talking pictures. A notable trio of film facourites, Spencer Tracey, Marian Nixon and Stuart Envin, have the leading roles, and’tfie direction is hy Harry Lachman. The plot concerns a travelling sign-painter, always dreaming of Ids glorious future. He meets a httle country girl who is likewise a dreamer. With the. aid of his clumsy helper, the painter assists her in escaping from her drab existence on a Vermont farm, only to fall in love with her.-They are separated when the farmer overtakes them, but 'meet again under unique circumstances m New York City. Tracey, hitherto famous for his “hard-boiled” portrayals in pictures, i s cast in an entirely different type of role. Miss Nixon i s cast as the New England girl whose dreams* lead her far beyond the confines of tile farm and whose .dainty features become tile “face in the sky.” Erwin here returns ,to the “dumb” roles that originally made him famous. Supports include further cllarpters of the serial.
