LONDON, November 17
The “Daily Telegraph’s” gossip writer, “Peterborough,” learns that the total estate of Sir John Ellerman will exceed forty millions, with a nec■essitation for payment of over twenty millions to the State, of which probably about fifteen millions will be received by the Chancellor before March. This is the equivalent .of the amount required to reduce the income tax by 3d in the pound, if it could be devoted to that purpose.
