HASTING, November 16

A death from drowning, when endeavouring to rescue two girls, who were bathing, occurred this afternoon, the victim being lan Alurray Schultze, aged 16. Shultze, together with his elder brother, had been swimming In a .pool in the vicinity of Pukehou, 20 miles from Hastings, and had dressed. They were in the neighbourhood when two girls, \yho had gone in for a bathe, after the boys had left the water, got into difficulties. Both of the l boys, when fully clothed, went to the rescue .of the girls, and the elder Schultze managed to regain safety, but the younger Schultze was drowned. His body was later recovered. .
