Tiie Japanese design On Australia is entirely confined to every possible increase of reciprocal trade. Count Okialrt stated. He explained that Japan had not desired to transfer her wool buying to South Africa or South America. Too much importance should not bo attached to reports thereanent.
“AVe have been a good customer of the Australian wool-growers,” he said, “and 'hope .0 be in future, because, the Japanese wool consumption is steadily increasing; but we cannot be buying without selling.” he said. The customs seized a quantity of Japanese goods stamped “Made in Manchester.”
