TRAWLER CAUGHT
ILLEGAL FISHING SUSPECTED
CHASE OFF SCOTTISH COAST.

There was a sensational episode, in the outer Hebrides (west of Scotland). While a trawler, the “Doon,” was doing duty in the protection of the fisheries, she stopped two fishing boats that- were suspected of illegal fishing. British officers boarded one ' of the boats, and sent two naval seamen to the other. Directly however, the latter went aboard, the boat steamed off at full speed, She outdistanced the “Doon.”
Radio messages were then flashed to Chmpbelltown, and the destroyer “Viceroy” and the cruiser ‘‘Milano w” joined the chase. The “Doon” later intercepted and captured the escaping trawler while she was attempting to enter Fleetwood. Th,9l “Doon” escorted her to Stornoway.
