Austrian Nazis are planning a sensational coup d’etat to overthrow Dr Dollfuss. They have obtained large supplies of m..chine guns and rifles. A private army mu inhering thousands is expected to be doubled by reinforcements from Germany. Dr Dollfuss, who learned of ;he plans for the uprising, is desperately -striving to .avert it, and is daily raiding the homes of Nazis suspects. AUSTRIAN SURVEILLANCE CAMP VIENNA, October 28. Austria’s first surveillance centre for political prisoners has been opened at Woellersdorf. It is housing twenty Nazis and Communists. It resembles the German camps, but the use of the term “concentration camp” is forbidden to the newspapers. The prisoners are obliged to pay for their own food and accommodation, and also their guards’ wages and the upkeep of the Centre, whether they are conveyed at their own expense.
