PRINCE OF WALES (Per British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 29. The Prince of Wales cancelled an engagement to visit Bedford School on Friday owing to a slight chill and a temperature. The Prince’s health’ is usually so excellent that it is eighteen months since he has had to forego any engagements. AN APPOINTMENT RUGBY, October 29. The Council of the British Electrical Development Association has appointed Sir William Ray, M. P., a leader of the London County Council, and a wellknown figure in the public life of London, to be its executive cnairman at a salary of five thousand sterling annually. He controls an...expenditure ;of £IOO,OOO annually, to be made with the object of making Britain “electrically conscious;” AUSTRALIAN COMMAND RUGBY; October 29. The appointment is announced of Rear-Admiral Wilbraham T. R. Ford, to succeed Rear-Admiral Daglish on the Australian Command. Rear-Ad-, miral Ford formerly commanded the Navigation School at Portsmouth. During the war he was successively . navigator of the Swiftsure, Glorious and Valiant, and was promoted to captain in 1920. He held various sea commands, and then became director of. physical training sports and captain in charge as Harwich. He commanded, the Royal Oak in 1929-30. SOUDAN’S NEW GOVERNOR.
