DIOMEDE ‘RED FLAG” INCIDENT. OPINION OF MINISTER. (Vvr Ptp>» Axsorintion — Copyright.) WELLINGTON, October 28. Regarding the incident on .he H-'M.S. Diomede on Labour Day, when -certain ■New Zealand ratings sang the “Red Flag,” the Minister c-f Defence, Mr Cobbe, stated to-d’y that he had been in communication wi ll the Commodore concerning the published report, and he ascertained that the -matter was quite trivial, such, as would not- have boon reported but for the published statements. The Minister deplored the wrong impression which may. have been created by undue prominence that h’d been given to so small an incident.
