McCormick, a member of the Northern Ireland Parliament, when going home in Belfast, w;. s held up by two .men, and ordered to put up his hands. Instead he struck one on the head with a walking stock, th's resulting in a. s'ernggle, in which three shots were fired, wounding McCormick once in the grm, but not seriously. McCormick had persistently questioned the Ulster Ministers concerning measures against tho Republican Army.
