PRINTING FIRM’S OMISSION (Per Pre S s Association, Copyright). WELLINGTON, October 27. Giving a reserved decision in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, :■ Mr Page, S.M., imposed the minimum' penalty of £5 upon L. T\. Watkins, Ltd, for omitting to place the name and registered office of the company on a paper printed by it. The fact that defendant printed the paper, which purported to be a copy of two articles published in the "Melbourne Argus” was admitted, but counsel for the defe”ce contended that the paper came within an exemption set out in Section 8 of Printers and Newspapers Registration Act, 1908. Mr Page said he did not think that the articles could be held to come within the exemption set opt iii Clause 8, and he decided that defendants had committed a breach of Statute .
