INSTALMENTS DUE IN NOVEMBER On the Ist November there will fall due an instalment (ss) of the general unemployment- levy of 20s per annum, and also the third installment of the emergency unemployment charge of one penny in eaclr amount of Is 8d (Is in the £) of income other than salary or wages derived during the'year ended 31st March, 1933. Prompt payment of these taxes is essential in the interests of the unemployed, because the provision of work for them depends upon the funds thus derived. Both men and womer have a liability with regard to payment of one or both of these taxes, and they are urged to honour this responsibility before the end of November. All male persons over the age of twenty years (except those wholly exempt from payment of the general unemployment levy) are required during the month o. 1 May in each year, to furnish declarations of income other than salary or wages, and if no such income is derived a “nil”'declaration is required. A woman whose income other than salary or wages is £2O or more is also required to furnish' declarations in respect of her income. Declaration forms are obtainable at all Money Order offices, and payment of the emergency unemployment charge should be made at a local Post Office or to the Commissioner of Taxes, Wellington, at tile time the declaration is lodged, ' I It is pointed out that persons who 1 fail to furnish declarations as and when required are liable to a fine of £SO. A penalty equal to 10 per cent, of the j amount due will be added to auy instalment not paid within one month of the due date
