INTOXICATED WHILE IN CHARGE (Per Press Association, Copyright). TEMUKA, October 24. In the Magistrate’s Court Henry Basil Mueller, of Ashburton, who had been arrested at 2 o’clock this morning on a charge of driving a car while in a state of intoxication, pleaded ‘ not a He . wasj defended by Mr •;F. J. Smith. 1 Counsel pleaded 1 for leniency, stating that AVliiiiller Tiad never been similarly charged and had been a lorry driver for' fourteen, years/..-'. After the. evidence of Sergeant Hill had been heard, defendant was fined £6 and ordered to pay £1 Is medical expenses, 8s witness’ expenses, and 3s court costs.
