THEFT COMPLAINT
MAN’S ALLEGATION OF ROBBERY iAUCKLAND, October 21. A complaint that he had been robbed of £2l 10s in Customs Street West shortly after four O’clock • yesterday afternoon was made ■ to' the police by a visitor to Auckland. The victim who is 65 years old and comes from the Coromandal district said he was leaving a building in Cm toms Street West when he thought b' felt a. hand taking money from a pocket. Hb caught hold of a man near him, and both men struggled for several yards until they reached another doorway. During his.efforts to retain a grip, the elderly visitor was thrown against a partition, and he suffered abrasions to the facb. In the meantime, the suspect was hold inside the doorway until a constable arrived in response to ca’ls for assistance, and he was taken into custody. ' I
