HUSBAND ANNEXED
WIFE SUES ANOTHER WOMAN. £IOO,OOO DAMAGES AWARDED. NEW YORK, October 21. For the second time in a few weeks a rich woman has been heavily penalised in an action for ‘‘annexing” another woman’s husband. The case was settled by payment of heavy damages. Mrs Helen Vogel Stern, wife of a /millionaire New York broker, sued Mrs •Ruth Erlanger Nathan for 4,000,000 dollars (£BOO,OOO at par) and (collected 500,000 dollars (£100,000) according to >the terms of the published settlement. , During' the hearing playful references were made to Mrs Nathan’s fondness for pulling Mr Stem’s shirt hut in public. : The New York “Daily News” says that it was fear of cross-examination which caused the defendant to settle 'before the jury finally reached a decision. / >' v -
