In the House of Representatives this morning, the Hon. J. G. Coates, replying to Mr P. -Fraser( Lab., Wgtn. Central), said that -communications were passing between this Govern ment and the United Kingdom on the subject of competition by sub sidised foreign shipping. The Gov eminent fully recognised the inequity of the position. The Motor Cabs Bill (Mr H. G. R. Mason), was read the second ti.me pro forma, and referred to the Labour Bills Committee.
Moving the second reading of the National Credits and Currency Bill, Mr Mason said that the volume of money in circulation should be- adjusted on a commodity ’ basis. Under proposals in the bill, money would be provided for those in need, and their purchasing Jpower would create a demand sufficient to regain prosperity. The debate is proceeding.
