An immediate and substantial 'reduction in the duties on all British goods, to be followed by a- iremoval of the balance of these duties, at the rate of 25 per cent, every year, was advocated by tlie New Zealand Meat 'Producers’ Hoard in lengthy evidence which was submitted to the Tariff Commission to-day by Si' l ' William Hunt, a .member-of the Beard.
j;t .was urged that no change should he made in the tariff on goods from other countries,' including those of the British Dominions; ' except upon a reciprocal basis, and, that in arranging any such changes, .. British interests should be considered a B well as those of New Zealand^;.. ' ■ '
