In all 27 applications were rece'.-ed for the position' kof . 'Assistant County Overseer.' Those were considered in detail and the number reduced in the first instance to 8. A further redurUom was made to five and Wien to tl ree, namely Messrs W. ;H. Knowles, ,T. Delaney ‘ and R. ;CL ’-’Drummond. On reducing the number to two, W. H. Knowles and iR. • G-. (Drummond,* the final ballot was in favour of W. H. Knowles .who'wag appointed and is to take up his duties on. the Ist November. The meeting concluded at. 6-30.......
