In the Magistrate’s Court, a youth, William Joseph -Newport, pleaded guilty to the theft of a bicycle, and, on
abother occasion to a pair of trousers and boots. 'He wag, sentenced, to three years’ borstal. He had, been previously in trouble.
Albert-Teuton-.pleaded guilty to illegally carrying an automatic pis><*L The police s aid that accused went to a house at Islington. He become annoyed ove'r a matter, went home and procured the pistol, and returned to the. house where he threatened ‘‘to even” with a' certain person- if he were not there later.
Defendant was addicted to drink and the police suggested a prohibition order and a term of probation.
The Magistrate concurred, defendant being given two years’ probation, and the pisto] being confiscated.
