SHOUTED DOWN IN LONDON (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, September 28. Extraordinary scenes occurred at the first night of Gerhardt Hauptmann’s play “Before Sunset, ’ at the Shaftsbury Theatre, when the famous Herman actor, Werner Ivrauss, made his first appearence in the London West end. The outburst, accompanied >by a flood of leaflets from the gallery, necessitated lowering the curtain several times. Stink bombs helped to make the auditorium a Bedlam. Demonstrators meanwhile shouted “Down with Hitler. "W e will not let Krauss appear. We want British actors.” The demonstrations were continued until the police were called ip. They ejected the demonstrators) from the gallery. Misses Joyaee Bland and Peggy Ashcroft, who had to hear the brunt of the earlier disorders, were later cordially applauded.
